Optimal Shape Design for a Cooling Pin Fin Connection Profil
A shape optimization problem of cooling fins for computer parts and integrated circuits is modeled and solved in this paper. The main purpose is to determine the shape of a two-dimensional pin fin, which leads to the maximum amount of removed heat. To do this, the shape optimization problem is defined as maximizing the norm of the Nusselt number distribution at the boundary of the pin fin's con...
متن کاملDerivative-Free Design Optimization of Sonnet-Simulated Structures Using Shape-Preserving Response Prediction and Space Mapping
A two-level derivative-free algorithm for design optimization of structures simulated using Sonnet em is introduced. The presented technique exploits a coarse-discretization model of the structure of interest that is optimized on a coarse grid using pattern search. Space mapping optimization is subsequently performed with the underlying surrogate model created using limited amount of coarse-dis...
متن کاملShape optimal design criterion in linear models
Within the framework of classical linear regression model optimal design criteria of stochastic nature are considered. The particular attention is paid to the shape criterion. Also its limit behaviour is established which generalizes that of the distance stochastic optimality criterion. Examples of the limit maximin criterion are considered and optimal designs for the line fit model are found.
متن کاملCollaborative Mapping of a Parametric Design Space
We utilize a high-dimensional parametric design space to support a novel and intuitive method for 3D modeling. Users visually explore the design space and pick models using a continuous, map-like interface. We leverage models created by the user community to learn underlying structure in the space via kernel density estimation. This mapping of the space is maintained by a server that synchroniz...
متن کاملMapping the Pareto Optimal Design Space for a Functionally Deimmunized Biotherapeutic Candidate
The immunogenicity of biotherapeutics can bottleneck development pipelines and poses a barrier to widespread clinical application. As a result, there is a growing need for improved deimmunization technologies. We have recently described algorithms that simultaneously optimize proteins for both reduced T cell epitope content and high-level function. In silico analysis of this dual objective desi...
